Wilkes Men's Soccer Drops Road Match Against Swarthmore
SWARTHMORE - The Wilkes men's soccer team fell to Swarthmore College on Tuesday evening with a final score of 7-0.
In the first half, the Colonels got four shots off while the Garnet tabbed 12. Landon Kelly (Marcellus, NY/Marcellus Senior High School), Nick Romas (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley), Jesse Lippner (Mt. Olive, NJ/Mt. Olive) and Grant Harman (Manassas, VA/Osbourn Park) all took shots for Wilkes in the half while Swarthmore recorded three goals. In goal, Matthew Conti (Florence, NJ/Florence Township Memorial High School) recorded five saves.
The Garnet pressed on in the second half, adding four goals to their total. In the half, Swarthmore managed to get off 18 shots, with the Colonels getting a shot off in the final two minutes of the game by Giovanni Mazzola (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall High School). In goal, Owen Heale (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) made one save.
The Colonels will be back on the road for their next match this Saturday, September 21 as they take on Rosemont College at 3 p.m.
