Wilkes Men's Soccer Fall 2-1 to Rosemont

ROSEMONT - The Wilkes men's soccer team fell to Rosemont College on Saturday afternoon, with the final score being 2-1.

In a scoreless first half between the Colonels and the Ravens, Wilkes was able to get two shots off compared to Rosemont's 10 but managed to keep the game scoreless. The two shots in the half for the Colonels were taken by Will Wagstaff (Allentown, PA/Parkland) and Elijah Emedoh-Kaba (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown Area). In goal, Matthew Conti (Florence, NJ/Florence Township Memorial High School) recorded six saves. 

The Raven's struck first in the second half, scoring their first goal in the 52nd minute. The Colonels responded two minutes later with a goal by Emedoh-Kaba, which was assisted by Kendall Heck (West Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area High School). Just a few minutes later, Rosemont retook the lead with their second goal in the 56th minute, rounding out all the goals for the game in just five minutes. Wilkes managed to get seven shots off this half, with Rosemont taking 12. Conti recorded six more saves this half, totaling 11 throughout the game. Emedoh-Kaba, Wagstaff, Heck, Lucas Saliani (Oakland, NJ/St. Joseph Regional), Matthew Meagher (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside), and Elhadji Kalla (Silver Spring, MD/Albert Einstein) all took shots this half.

The Colonels will be in Collegeville this Tuesday, September 24 to face Ursinus at 7:30 p.m.
