Wilkes Women's Soccer Defeat Albright at Home 1-0
EDWARDSVILLE - The Wilkes women's soccer team defeated Albright College on Wednesday evening with a score of 1-0.
During the first half, the Colonels were dominant in the offense, firing off 14 shots, with four being on goal. Wilkes was able to tab one goal in the half, scored by Ava Young (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West) in the 32nd minute off a rebound from her previous shot. In goal, Delaney Yaracs (Butler, PA/Butler) did not see much action, recording one save on the lone shot of the half for the Lions.
Wilkes was able to hold Albright at bay throughout the second half, not allowing any shots by the Lions throughout the half. The Colonels added three more shots to their total, but did not find the back of the net this half albeit maintaining their prominence in the offensive end.
The Colonels will be on the road for their next match against FDU-Florham this Saturday, September 21. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
