Wilkes Men's Soccer Fall to Susquehanna in Conference Opener

SELINSGROVE, PA - The Wilkes men's soccer conference opener concluded in a 5-0 loss against Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon.

Susquehanna put up a strong offensive effort during the first half, tallying all five of their goals within the first 43 minutes of the game. Although Wilkes had eight shots compared to Susquehanna's 11 in the half, the Colonels were unable to find the back of the net. The Riverhawks added sox shots in the second half, with Wilkes only adding one more shot.

Matthew Coni was in goal for the Colonels during the first half, making four saves. Owen Heale (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) took over in the second half, recording two saves in the half. Kendall Heck (West Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area High School), Herbert Ramirez (Highstown, NJ/Highstown), Elijah Emedoh-Kaba (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown Area), Xavier Guerreiro (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North), and Matthew Meagher (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) all had shot attempts for the Colonels.

The Colonels will be on the road this Wednesday, October 2 at King's. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
