Wilkes Field Hockey Drops Saturday Conference Match Against Susquehanna

EDWARDSVILLE, PA - The Wilkes field hockey team dropped a conference matchup against Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-1.

The Riverhawks tallied three goals in the first quarter to quickly record a 3-0 score. Wilkes responded in the 28th minute of the second quarter with a goal by Shaelyn Donnelly (Glassboro, NJ/GCIT), assisted by Morgan Hermanofski (Shickshinny, PA/Northwest Area). Susquehanna secured their win with two more goals, one in the third quarter and their fifth in the fourth. 

Susquehanna tallied a total of 24 shots in the game, 19 of them being on goal. Wilkes had a total of five shots throughout the game, with three being on target. In goal, Olivia Wickel (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) made 11 saves for the Colonels. Morgan Millard (Bloomsburg, PA/Bloomsburg Area) and Hermanofski led the Colonels in shots with two apiece, and Courtney Keim recorded two defensive saves. 

The Colonels will be traveling to Moravian on Saturday, October 5 for another conference matchup. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Bethlehem.
