Wilkes Men's Ice Hockey Drops Road Contest Against Neumann 

ASTON, PA - The Wilkes men's ice hockey team fell to Neumann on Saturday evening with a score of 4-2, splitting their two game series against the Knights. 

Neumann opened the scoring with a power play goal in the first period scored by Max Donohoe. The Knights added a second goal to open the second period, scored by Zack Smith. The Colonels responded with two goals of their own in the second period to tie the game. Miles Harrington (McDonough, GA) got Wilkes on the board with a power play goal assisted by Christian Blomquist (Wauwatosa, WI) and Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN). Harrington added a second goal a few minutes later to tie the game up with Daniel Nau (Wake Forest, NC) recording the assist. The Knights regained the lead in the third period with a goal by PJ Demitrio and Tyler Inlow solidified the win for Neumann with an empty net goal in the final minute of the game. 

Jungwirth led the team in shots, recording five during the game. Harrington, Nau, Nick Swain (Jackson, NJ), Cam Lowe (Lancaster, MA) and Easton Strafford each followed with three shots apiece. Nate Terski (North Grafton, MA) and Carter Jordan (Fort Collins, CO) each tallied two blocks, with Lowe and Mason Vonk (West Olive, MI) each recording one. Cam Perez (West Hartford, CT) and Nick Del Gaizo (Basking Ridge, NJ) ended the game with a plus one and Matt Carlson (Delmar, NY) went 10-13 in the faceoff circle. In goal, Jack Perna (Sykesville, MD) recorded 23 saves for a .885 save percentage.

The Colonels will be back at home this Wednesday, January 22, for a matchup against Arcadia. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. at the Toyota Sportsplex.
