Wilkes Men's Ice Hockey Cruises Past Arcadia 7-1

WILKES-BARRE - The Wilkes men's ice hockey team added another conference win tonight in a matchup against Arcadia with a 7-1 victory.

The scoring opened early for the Colonels, with Cam Lowe (Lancaster, MA) lighting the lamp in just the second minute of the opening period. Nick Swain (Jackson, NJ) added a second goal in the 15 minute and Christian Blomquist (Wauwatosa, WI) got the Colonels up 3-0 with a power play goal to close out the first period. 

Nick Carlson added the lone goal for Wilkes in the second period and Arcadia's Nick Jermolenko scored their only goal of the night in the final seconds of the second, assisted by Connor Williams and Bryce Battaglia. 

Lowe added his second of the night to open the third period, with Christopher Page and Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN) adding two more goals for the Colonels to round out the scoring for the night. 

Nate Terski (North Grafton, MA), Jungwirth, and Carter Jordan (Fort Collins, CO) each recorded two assists on the night while Tyler Boudreau (Edmonton, AB), Daniel Nau (Wake Forest, NC), Carlson, Blomquist and Patrick Roginski (Shelby Twp., MI) each tallied one apiece. 

Leading the team in shots was Jungwirth with six , followed by Swain with five and Luke Dobles (Spencerport, NY) with four. Lorenzo Marcolin (Saratoga Springs, NY) and Mason Vonk (West Olive, MI) each recorded a team high three blocks each, and Boudreau led in plus minus with a plus three. In the faceoff circle, Nau went 12-19. Jack Perna (Sykesville, MD) recorded 28 saves in net for a .966 save percentage.

The Colonels will be on the road at Alvernia Friday and Saturday for a two game series against the Golden Wolves, with puck drops scheduled for 7 p.m. and 4 p.m.
