WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Wilkes University men's soccer team headed to the nation's capital for a Landmark Conference clash at Catholic University on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Cardinals 3-0 at Carlini Field.

Wilkes falls to 1-8-4 overall with a 0-2-2 record in Landmark play, while Catholic improves to 7-0-5 on the year with a 2-0-2 mark against conference opponents.

The Cardinals scored first in the 15th minute off the boot of Azaria Tewodros and doubled the lead five minutes later with a strike by Holden Woodings. In the 89th minute, Nick Licari finished the game with the team's third goal.

Luke Ferrarese (Bel Air, MD/Calvert Hall College) and Josey Williamson (Oley Valley, PA/Oley Valley) registered Wilkes' two shots on the day while Matthew Conti (Florence, NJ/Florence Township Memorial High School) made six saves.

Woodings led Catholic with five shots and three on goal. Owen Allegro and Daniel Ferrer split time in goal to keep the clean sheet.

The Colonels conclude their two-game road trip on Tuesday, October 14th as they travel to face the Rangers of Drew University. Kick off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
