Wilkes Women's Soccer Falls to Drew University

EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. – After a three-game road trip, the Wilkes University women's soccer team returned home to Bruggeworth Field to host Drew University but fell to the Rangers 1-0 Tuesday night.

Wilkes falls to 4-5-5 overall with the defeat and 0-2-3 in Landmark Conference play, while Drew improves to 5-6-2 on the year and 2-3 in conference play.

The game remained evenly matched through the first 30 minutes of play, before Drew got on the board with a goal from Olivia Klein after a save by Delaney Yaracs (Butler, PA/Butler) fell to her boot.

Wilkes' best opportunities came in the final 10 minutes of the game with three corners and a set piece opportunity, but the Colonels were unable to find an equalizer and the Rangers took the victory.

Five Colonels took shots in the game, including chances by Taylor Anthony (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex), Riley Mastriani (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central), and Elena Krajain (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Regional) in the final flurry. Yaracs made three saves in goal.

Riley Bent and Megan Fedish led Drew with three shots, while Klein had the lone goal. Fedish also provided an assist for the Rangers. In goal, Sarah Crowley kept the clean sheet.

Wilkes returns to Bruggeworth Field on Saturday, October 18th for Senior Day against Goucher College. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
