Goucher Bests Wilkes Men's Soccer 1-0
EDWARDSVILLE – A Goucher College goal at 59:07 was all needed to lift the Gophers to a 1-0 Landmark Conference victory over the Wilkes University men's soccer team Saturday afternoon at Bruggeworth Field.
Wilkes dropped to 1-10-4 overall and 0-4-2 in conference matches. Goucher improved to 7-5-3 overall and 3-3 in league play.
The teams went scoreless through the first 59 minutes before Andres Aristimuno scored the eventual game-winner off an assist from Joel Lukoo. Wilkes had several close chances throughout the final 20 minutes of play but was unable to find the equalizer in the match.
Goucher outshot Wilkes 14-8 while the Colonels garnered six corner kick attempts to the Gophers two.
Landon Keller (Provo, UT/Timpview) made six saves in net for Wilkes.

Wilkes returns to Landmark play Tuesday with a road match at the University of Scranton starting at 7:00 p.m.
