Late Goal Sends Susquehanna and Wilkes Women's Soccer to 2-2 Tie
 
SELINSGROVE, PA – Host Susquehanna University scored with 1:44 remaining in the match as the River Hawks escaped with a 2-2 Landmark Conference tie against the Wilkes University women's soccer team Tuesday night at Sassafras Field.
 
Wilkes saw its overall mark move to 4-4-4 and stand 0-1-2 in league games. Susquehanna went to 5-7-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play.
 
Abby Bolz (Fair Hill, MD/Rising Sun) gave the Colonels an early 1-0 lead when she found a loose ball at the top of the box and deposited a shot over the River Hawks goalie just 4:22 into the first half.
 
Sydney Williams responded with her eighth goal of the season when she scored off an assist from Ava Billmeyer at 10:34.
 
The match remained tied at one until the 82nd minute when Jess Shea (Somerset, NJ/Franklin) took a free kick from Elena Krajain (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Regional) and knocked home the ball to give the Colonels a 2-1 advantage with under eight minutes left to play.
 
From there it was Nicole Freiler who darted onside up the right side and took a pass from Billmeyer before shooting it to goal for the equalizer at the 88:16 mark.
 
Susquehanna outshot Wilkes 15-6 with nine shots coming on goal to the Colonels four shots on net. The River Hawks garnered four corner kicks while Wilkes attempt two.
 
Ava Long (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) started and played the first half making three saves while Delaney Yaracs (Butler, PA/Butler) finished the match playing the second half stopping four shots.
 
Wilkes continues its Landmark road stretch on Saturday when the Colonels travel to Catholic University for a conference match scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
