Moore Named Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week
TOWSON, Md. – Wilkes University football wide receiver
Justin Moore (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) was named Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week for his play in the team's win over WestConn, as announced by the conference office this afternoon.
This is Moore's first ever Landmark weekly award and the team's fifth of the season. This marks the team's first Offensive Athlete of the Week honor of the year.
Moore's play helped Wilkes to a 38-0 win over the Wolves to send the Colonels to their third consecutive Chesapeake Bowl Challenge appearance. The senior had a season-high 96 receiving yards and two total touchdowns, one receiving and one passing.
In the second quarter, Moore took the lateral from
Cooper King (Northampton, PA/Northampton) and hit
Janas Simms (York, PA/William Penn) on the sideline for a 36-yard touchdown pass, with Simms leaping over the defender to make the grab. In the fourth quarter, Moore showed off his speed with a 67-yard catch and run score that put Wilkes up 28-0.
Moore and the Colonels will now compete in the Cape Henry Bowl against Shenandoah University of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) this Saturday, November 22
