WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's ice hockey team fell 2-0 at Stevenson University in a Middle Atlantic Conference matchup Saturday afternoon.
 
The Colonels fell to 12-7-2 and 12-3-2 in league games while Stevenson dropped to 12-6-2 overall and 9-5-2 in MAC games.
 
The Mustangs broke open a scoreless game midway through the second period when Evan Beers scored off assists from Liam McCanney and Matt Yeager at the 9:00 mark.
 
The lead stayed at one before Dylan Florit struck on a short-handed opportunity to push the advantage to 2-0 with less than seven minutes to go in the third.
 
Wilkes was unable to score late in the third on the power-play as the Mustangs held on for the conference win.
 
Jack Perna (Sykesville, MD) finished with 31 saves in the loss while Ford DeLoss made 23 stops in the win.
 
The Colonels continue their road stretch on Friday when they travel to Lebanon Valley College for a MAC matchup scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
