WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's ice hockey team completed a second season sweep in as many days, defeating Stevenson at the Toyota SportsPlex 4-0 Saturday afternoon.

With the win, Wilkes improves to 16-4 overall with a 14-2-0 record in MAC play, while the Mustangs fall to 6-12-1 and 4-10-1 against MAC competition.

Wilkes started white hot scoring three goals in the first period, with Bella Kaczorowski (Anchorage, AK/NAHA White) being the first to light the lamp four minutes into the game. Iida Laitinen (Jyväskylä, Finland) doubled the lead at 9:44 with an unassisted strike. Jordan Ferry (Bohemia, NY) added a third in quick succession at 11:44 to give the Colonels the 3-0 lead.

Wilkes fired 26 shots in the first 20 minutes, the most of any other period in the game.

Haylee Bouchard (Sioux Lookout, ON) added the Colonels' fourth goal of the day in the second period, scoring on the assist from Gianna Pacilio (Franklinville, NJ). From there, Wilkes cruised to their ninth consecutive victory.

Four different Colonels scored and a further four assisted on the goals, as Ferry led the team with seven total shots. Rachel Morey (Clearmont, WY) led the team with 10 faceoff wins, followed by Pacilio with nine. Audrey Milne (London, ON) had a comfortable afternoon between the pipes, making 11 saves and picking up the shutout win.

The Colonels return to the SportsPlex for their next contest on Saturday, February 8 as they welcome Arcadia University for the team's DIFD Mental Health Awareness Game. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
