Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Defeats King's College 3-1

PITTSTON, Pa. – The Wilkes University women's ice hockey team extended their unbeaten streak to twelve games Friday night, defeating King's College at the Revolution Ice Centre 3-1.

The Colonels improve to 18-4-1 overall with a conference record of 16-2-1, while the Monarchs fall to 5-14-3 overall with a MAC record of 5-11-3.

Nina Hudakova (Košice, Slovakia) opened the scoring in the first period, her tenth goal of the season. In the second period, Haylee Bouchard (Sioux Lookout, ON) lit the lamp to double the lead with a power play goal. The Colonels fired off a game-high 21 shots on goal in the second period, but only saw one go in the back of the net.

Renee Ng (Hong Kong, China/Mount Academy) marked her return to the lineup after competing at the 2025 Asian Winter Games with the exclamation point goal in the final period to make it a 3-0 game. A late Monarch goal erased the shutout, but the Colonels walked away with all three points in the 3-1 victory.

Ng led the Colonels with seven shots, while Laitinen led the team with two assists to tie Hudakova with two goal contributions (one goal, one assist). Gianna Pacilio (Franklinville, NJ) led the team from the faceoff circle winning nine matchups from inside the circle.

The Colonels continue their season-closing road stand tomorrow, February 15, as they face Alvernia University. Puck drop against the Golden Wolves is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
