Wilkes Women's Lacrosse Upended at Marywood
SCRANTON, PA – Host Marywood University raced out to a 16-1 lead at the half and never looked back on way to a 22-2 non-conference victory over the Wilkes University women's lacrosse team on Monday night.
Wilkes fell to 0-5 overall on the season while Marywood evened its mark at 4-4.
Marywood took an 8-0 lead after one quarter of play before
Halie Albright (Taneytown, MD/Francis Scott Key) notched an unassisted goal at 13:20 of the second frame.
The Pacers then scored 13 straight goals before
Brooklyn Pedana (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) scored unassisted at 4:11 of the fourth period to round out the Colonel offense on the night.
Marywood held a 38-7 shot advantage while causing 26 Wilkes turnovers in the game. The Colonels finished 7-for-17 in clearing attempts while collecting 15 total ground balls.
Brooklynn Donia (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) finished with 11 saves in net for Wilkes playing all 60 minutes.
Wilkes opens Landmark Conference play Saturday at Moravian University starting at 1:00 p.m. in Bethlehem, Pa.
