Wilkes Men's Tennis Falls 7-0 at Ursinus
COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 dual match at Ursinus College Wednesday afternoon at Ace Bailey Courts.
Wilkes fell to 3-3 overall in dual match play while Ursinus improved to 7-4 on the season.
Wilkes' lone win in doubles play came at No. 2 pairs where
Nathanial Rathe (Lincoln, NE/Lincoln Southeast) and
Connor Frey (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) were a 6-3 winner over Andrei Bogdan and Devin Carter.
The Bears then took all six singles flights on way to the sweep. Rathe fought hard in his No. 1 singles match losing 6-1, 5-7, 10-8.
Otarhe Okoh (Shakopee, MN/Shakopee) also went three sets at No. 4 singles falling 6-2, 5-7, 13-11.
Wilkes is back in action Sunday when the Colonels face cross-town rival King's College for a match at 12:00 p.m. at the Kirby Park Courts.
