EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. – A nine-goal second quarter by King's College lifted the Monarchs over the Wilkes University women's lacrosse team at Schmidt Stadium on Wednesday night 24-3.

Wilkes falls to 0-7 overall while King's improves to 3-4 on the year.

The Monarchs opened the game with three unanswered goals in the first quarter of action, but Emily Jackson (Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area) put the Colonels on the board with 42 seconds left in the period.

In the second, the visitors added five more goals before Brooklyn Pedana (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) added a second after assisting on the first goal to make it an 8-2 game. King's scored 16 straight goals, with Pedana adding one more in the final minute to reach the 24-3 final score.

Pedana led the Colonel offense with two goals and one assist. Five Colonels shared the team-high in ground balls with two, with Megan Bell (Waterloo, ON/St. David Catholic) collecting five draw controls.

Brooklynn Donia (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) played three quarters in net making eight saves, while Rissa Brazeau (Timmins, ON) saw her first action of the season in the final quarter making four saves.
Alli Lindsay led King's with ten goals, two assists, and four ground balls, all team-highs.

The Colonels return to action on Saturday, March 29 as they host Juniata College in Landmark Conference play at 7:00 p.m.
