Wilkes Men's Tennis Records 6-1 Win Over Mary Baldwin
HILTON HEAD, SC – The Wilkes University men's tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over Mary Baldwin University in a non-conference dual match on Wednesday night.
Wilkes improved to 3-2 overall on the season following the dual match win.
The Colonels claimed the one point from doubles play thanks to a sweep.
Otarhe Okoh (Shakopee, MN/Shakopee) and
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) posted an 8-2 victory at No. 1 followed by
Donovan Zong (Bethlehem, PA/Salisbury Township) and
Jonah Nguyen (Enola, PA/East Pennsboro Area) winning 8-2 at No. 2 pairs.
Nathanial Rathe (Lincoln, NE/Lincoln Southeast) and
Connor Frey (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) finished off the sweep with an 8-7 (7-3) victory at No. 3
Wilkes finished off the match with wins in five of six singles flights. Rathe and Riley won 8-0 at No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. Zong took his match at No. 3 8-6 before wins from Ohoh 8-1 at No. 4 and Frey 8-1 at No. 5.
