Wilkes Men's Tennis Upended Against Susquehanna in Landmark Play
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's tennis dropped a 6-1 decision to Landmark Conference foe Susquehanna University Saturday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
Wilkes fell to 5-7 overall and 2-4 in Landmark matches while Susquehanna improved to 8-3 overall and evened its conference mark at 3-3.
The River Hawks took the one point in doubles play taking two of three matches. Wilkes' lone win came at No. 3 pairs where
Jonah Nguyen (Enola, PA/East Pennsboro Area) and
Donovan Zong (Bethlehem, PA/Salisbury Township) earned a 6-3 victory.
In singles play,
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) was the lone winner for the Colonels taking his match against Thomas Hallahan at No. 2 by the scores of 6-4, 6-1. Susquehanna earned wins in the other four singles flights to seal the win.
The Colonels return to the court Monday for a non-conference match against FDU-Florham starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
