Wilkes Men's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision to FDU-Florham
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to visiting FDU-Florham in a non-conference match Monday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
Wilkes fell to 5-8 overall while FDU-Florham improved to 8-6 on the season.
FDU-Florham took the doubles team point winning two of three pairs flights. Wilkes' lone win came at No. 2 doubles where
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) and Okoh Otarhe won 6-4.
The Devils earned wins in the first three singles flights before clinching the match with a victory at No. 4. Otarhe claimed a hard-fought 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-1 win at No. 4 singles and
Connor Frey (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) bested Chase Miller 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5 to earn the Colonels two team points in the match.
The Colonels are back in action tomorrow (Tuesday) when they travel to Goucher College for a Landmark Conference match scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
