Wilkes Women's Lacrosse Drops Contest to Elizabethtown
ELIZABETHTOWN, PA - The Wilkes women's lacrosse team fell in a conference matchup against Elizabethtown on Saturday with a final score of 23-3.
The Blue Jays scored 13 unanswered goals in the first quarter and added five more goals in the second quarter. The Colonels scored two goals in the second to get themselves on the board. Audrey Milne (London, ON) recorded the first goal for the Colonels which was assisted by Taylor Sparks (Monroeville, NJ/Woodstown). Brooklyn Pedana (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) scored the second goal for Wilkes with Alexis Guttilla (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by-the-Sea) picking up the assist.
Elizabethtown recorded three more goals in the third quarter and two in the fourth. Wilkes added a third goal to their total at the end of the fourth quarter, with Sparks finding the back of the net.
Wilkes tallied 15 total shots throughout the game, with nine of them being on goal. The Colonels also recorded four ground balls and were 6-10 on clears.
The Colonels will play their final game of the season next Saturday, April 26 at Catholic. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
