Wilkes Men's Lacrosse Drops Contest Against Drew

EDWARDSVILLE - The Wilkes men's lacrosse team came up short against Drew on Wednesday night, with the final score being 16-4.

The Rangers recorded nine goals in the first quarter and were scoreless in the second. Wilkes scored a goal of their own in the second, with Jackson Casper (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) finding the back of the net for the Colonels. Casper scored the Colonels second goal in the third period while Drew added six more goals to their total. Oscar Cline (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) and Stone Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) scored Wilkes' third and fourth goals in the fourth quarter and the Rangers tallied one additional goal. Austin Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) picked up assists on the Colonels final two goals.

Austin Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) led the team in shots with nine total and four on goal followed by Tim Hartka (Phoenix, MD/Calvert Hall) with seven shots and Cline and Stone Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) with five. Austin Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) and Brandon Cooke (Wappingers Falls, NY/Kent) each recorded a team high of six ground balls and in goal Caleb Miller (Mohrsville, PA/Schuylkill Valley) tallied a total of 17 saves.

The Colonels will be on the road at Goucher for their next game this Saturday, April 5. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
