Wilkes Men's Lacrosse Falls in Landmark Action at Goucher
BALTIMORE, Md. – The Wilkes University men's lacrosse team traveled to Charm City to face Goucher College Saturday afternoon, falling to the Gophers 24-0 in Landmark Conference play at Beldon Field.
Wilkes falls to 4-9 overall with a 1-4 record in conference play, while Goucher improves to 7-5 overall with a 1-3 record in Landmark play.
The Colonel offense struggled to find the back of the net as the Gophers scored 24 unanswered goals to take the victory.
Jackson Casper (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) led the Colonels with eight total shots, tied with
Austin Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) and
Stone Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) for the team-high in shots on goal with three each.
Mac Jackson (Long Valley, NJ/Seton Hall Prep), Caleb Edwards, and
Owen Peters (Oreland, PA/Roman Catholic) each had a team-best four ground balls, with Miller making 18 saves in net for the Colonels.
Gianni Karam led the hosts with seven goals, 11 shots on goal, and five ground balls. In goal, Josh Steinmiller picked up the decision for the Gophers with six saves in 30 minutes of play.
Wilkes returns to action at Schmidt Stadium on Wednesday, April 9 as they host Lycoming College at 7:00 p.m.
