Wilkes Men's Tennis Downed at Drew 6-1
MADISON, NJ – The Wilkes University men's tennis team fell 6-1 in a Landmark Conference match at Drew University Wednesday afternoon.
Wilkes dropped to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in league matches following the road defeat. Drew improved to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in Landmark play.
Drew took all three doubles matches with No. 1 and No. 2 coming in the tie breaker set.
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) and
Otarhe Okoh (Shakopee, MN/Shakopee) fell 7-6 (7-4) at No. 1 and
Nathanial Rathe (Lincoln, NE/Lincoln Southeast) and
Connor Frey (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) dropped their match 7-6 (7-3).
The Colonels lone win in singles play came at No. 4 as Okoh won 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
The Colonels return to the court tomorrow (Thursday) for a non-conference tilt against FDU-Florham at 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
