Wilkes Men's Tennis Falls 5-2 at Moravian
BEHTLEHEM, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team fell 5-2 at host Moravian University in a Landmark Conference match Sunday afternoon at Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse.
Wilkes slipped to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in Landmark matches following the road loss. Moravian improved to 11-5 overall and 5-1 in league matches.
Moravian took the team point in double splay claiming wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Wilkes' pair of
Otarhe Okoh (Shakopee, MN/Shakopee) and
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) won at No. 1 doubles 6-3.
Nathanial Rathe (Lincoln, NE/Lincoln Southeast) and
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) were the two Colonel winners in singles flights as Rathe won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 and Riley took his No. 2 match 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Moravian clinched the match with wins at No. 3, 4,5, and 6 to secure the victory.
Wilkes returns to the court Tuesday with a Landmark Conference match against Lycoming College scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
