Wilkes Women's Tennis Suffers First Landmark Defeat at Drew
MADISON, NJ – Host Drew University swept all three doubles flights and six-of-six in singles play on way to a 7-0 Landmark Conference victory over the Wilkes University women's tennis team Wednesday afternoon.
Wilkes suffered its first conference defeat slipping to 6-4 overall and 1-1 in league matches. Drew improved to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
The Rangers won 6-1, 6-2 and 6-4 at No. 1 through 3 doubles respectively. The hosts then swept all six singles flights in straight sets on way to the home conference dual match win.
The Colonels return to the court Saturday with another Landmark Conference match-up at Moravian University at 12:00 p.m. in Bethlehem, Pa.
