Wilkes Men's Tennis Swept at First Place Goucher
TOWSON, MD – The Wilkes University men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at first place Goucher College in a Landmark Conference match Tuesday afternoon at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
Wilkes fell to 5-9 overall and 2-5 in league matches. Goucher improved to 14-6 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 9-0.
Goucher took all three doubles matches with the closest being at No. 1 pairs where
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) and Okoh Otarhe barely missed out on an upset of Benedikt Rummel and Gabe Nagtoly 7-6 (10-3).
Goucher then took all six singles flights in straight sets to seal its ninth conference win of the season.
The Colonels are back in Landmark action Thursday with a match against Lycoming College at 3:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
