Wilkes Women's Tennis Falls at Goucher 6-1
TOWSON, MD – The Wilkes University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at Goucher College in a Landmark Conference match Tuesday afternoon at the Schroedl Tennis Center.
Wilkes fell to 7-7 overall and 2-4 in league play while Goucher improved to 10-7 overall and 6-2 in conference matches.
Goucher began the match with one team point taking all three doubles matches. The Golphers then captured singles wins in all but No. 1 to clinch the home conference victory.
Reigning Landmark Conference Player of the Week
Tea Amerise (Mountain Top, PA/Holy Redeemer) continued her fine play at the top spot in the Colonels lineup besting Natalia Navarro 6-4, 6-2 for the lone Colonels win in the match.
Wilkes returns to Landmark play tomorrow (Wednesday) with a home match against the University of Scranton at 4:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
