Scranton Moves Past Wilkes Women's Tennis 6-1
EDWARDSVILLE – Visiting University of Scranton posted a 6-1 Landmark Conference victory over the Wilkes University women's tennis team Wednesday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
Wilkes slipped to 7-8 overall and 2-5 in league matches while Scranton improved to 6-9 overall and 5-2 in Landmark play.
Scranton used three wins in doubles play to earn the team point.
The Royals then posted straight set wins in five-of-six singles flights on way to the conference victory.
Tea Amerise (Mountain Top, PA/Holy Redeemer) continued her hot streak at No. 1 singles earning a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Gisele Falzone for the Colonels lone win.
Wilkes is back in action tomorrow (Thursday) with a Landmark Conference match against Lycoming College starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
