Wilkes Women's Lacrosse Drop Matchup Against Lycoming

WILLIAMSPORT, PA - The Wilkes women's lacrosse team dropped a conference matchup against Lycoming on Wednesday night, falling to the Warriors 23-2.

Lycoming recorded 11 goals in the first quarter while Wilkes netted one. Lily Zingaro (Collingwood, ON) opened the scoring for the Colonels in the final minutes of the quarter, with Megan Bell (Waterloo, ON/St. David Catholic) recording an assist on the goal. The Warriors added eight more goals in the second with Wilkes unable to find the back of the net.

In the third quarter, Lycoming added one more goal to their total along with Wilkes. Brooklyn Pedana (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) scored the second goal for the Colonels with Alexis Guttilla (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by-the-Sea) recording the assist on the goal. The Warriors scored three final goals in the third quarter to close out the scoring for the game. 

Wilkes totaled eight shots throughout the game, with seven being on goal. Bell, Zingaro and Pedana each recorded the team high of two shots. The Colonels recorded 18 ground balls and won four draw controls. 

In net for the Colonels, Brooklyn Donia recorded 10 saves and Rissa Brazeau (Timmins, ON) tallied one. 

The Colonels will be playing their next game at home this Saturday, April 12 against Susquehanna. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
