Wilkes Football Announces 2025 Schedule
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University athletic department unveiled the 2025 schedule for Wilkes Football on Thursday afternoon, kicking off a series of schedule releases for all fall sports teams.
The Colonels made their second postseason appearance last season and begin their third season in the Landmark Conference this fall with a ten-game slate featuring four non-conference games and six Landmark matchups.
David Biever leads the team in his second season as head coach.

The Colonels kick off the campaign as they host cross-town rival King's College in primetime on Thursday, September 4 with the 29
th annual Mayor's Cup game, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. The Colonels boast a 25-13 all-time record against the Monarchs and a 17-11 lead in the Mayor's Cup since its creation in 1996. Wilkes was the victor last season, with a 43-28 win on the road.
Their first road game of the season comes on Saturday, Sep. 13, as they travel to face The College of New Jersey in a first-time matchup at 12:00 p.m.
Wilkes then welcomes 2024 Centennial-MAC bowl winners Muhlenberg College to Schmidt Stadium on Saturday, Sep. 20 at 12:00 p.m., and wraps up their non-conference slate against Montclair State on Sep. 27 at 5:00 p.m. This will be the first time that the Colonels and Red Hawks have faced off since 2009, a win for Wilkes on home turf 37-10.
Landmark Conference play begins on Saturday, October 4 as the Colonels host Catholic University for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff. The blue and gold then hit the road to face Moravian University on Oct. 11 and Lycoming on Oct. 25, sandwiching their bye week. Both games against the Greyhounds and Warriors kick off at 1:00 p.m.
The Colonels return home on November 1 for Senior Day at Schmidt Stadium, as they face Juniata College at 12:00 p.m. Their final road game of the season comes on Saturday, Nov. 8 as they face the defending Landmark champions Susquehanna University at 1:00 p.m., and close the season at home against Western Connecticut State on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 12:00 p.m. The Wolves join the conference this season as an affiliate member in football, marking the second first-time opponent on the Wilkes schedule.
Last season the Colonels went 5-1 against opponents on the 2025 slate, including King's, Juniata, Lycoming, Susquehanna, Catholic, and Moravian.
Wilkes will continue to release its 2025 fall schedules with field hockey on Friday.
