Wilkes Men's Swimming and Diving Team Falls to Catholic 
 
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes men's swimming and diving team fell to Landmark competitor Catholic University 150-103 this Saturday afternoon at the CYC. 

Following the meet, Wilkes caps off the regular season with a 9-4 overall record and 4-2 Landmark record while the Cardinals finish 4-4 overall and 3-0 in conference. 

The Colonels grabbed a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay to open the meet, as the team of Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton), Joshua Robinson (Richmond, VA/St. Christopher's), Max Wilson, and Owen Lewis (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) swam a 1:42.41.

Max Johnson (Clarksburg, MD/Clarksburg) highlighted the day with a new career record in the 1,000-yard freestyle, taking second in 10:23.85, and later claimed first in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:04.24.

Wilson swept the backstroke events, winning the 100-yard backstroke in 58.07 and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:07.97, while Jacob Piotrowski (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) followed closely behind in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing second with a time of 2:09.65. 

Owen Lewis (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (22.65), and Tobias Misinay (Somerset, KY/Pulaski County) added a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.19) and second in the 100-yard freestyle (50.39).

Josh Leonard (Athens, PA/Athens Area) touched second in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:16.49, and Derrick Hammond earned second in the 100-yard butterfly in 56.90. Closing the meet, the relay team of Piotrowski, Luke Donato (Westerly, RI/Westerly), Leo Miller (Oak Forest, IL/Oak Forest), and Lewis finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:33.76.

The Colonels will return to the pool for the final time this season as they travel to Baltimore, MD for the Landmark Conference Swimming and Diving Championships held at Loyola University from Thursday, February 12, through Sunday, February 15.
