Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Four-Goal Second Period Lifts Wilkes Men's Ice Hockey to 6-2 win at Arcadia University

GLENSIDE, Pa. – A four-goal second period was the difference maker as the Wilkes University men's ice hockey team returned to the ice for the first time in 2026, defeating Middle Atlantic Conference rival Arcadia University 6-2.
The Colonels improved to 8-3-2 (5-3-1) following the victory, while the Knights fell to 6-6-1 (3-5-1).

Wilkes opened the scoring when Jack Lee (Naperville, IL) found twine for the Colonels. Less than three minutes later, Mason Vonk (West Olive, MI/) gave the visitors a 2-0 lead. With under a minute remaining in the first frame, the home side answered back as Russ Tedesco made it a 2-1 contest going into the first intermission.

In the second period, it was all-Colonels as the away side found the back of the net four times, beginning just 31 seconds in, with Matt Carlson (Delmar, NY/) the goalscorer. A minute-and-a-half later, Carter Jordan (Fort Collins, CO/) made it 4-1 in favor of the visitors.
Wilkes continued the second period push as Lee lit the lamp at 11:33 for the second time of the night. The power play unit had a say as well, when Patrick Roginski (Shelby Twp., MI/) converted on the man advantage.

Brenden Dicker gave the Knights some life late on in the middle frame, making it a 6-2 contest going into the third period. From there, the Colonels cruised on as they secured a hard fought victory, returning to winning ways in conference play.

In goal for the Colonels, Duncan Rolleman (New Hamburg, ON/) made 28 saves in the victory. Christian Blomquist (Wauwatosa, WI/) recorded three assists on the night, while Carlson provided two points. Lee recorded two helpers as well, making it a four-point night. He also recorded three shots on goal, a team high.

For Arcadia, Ryan Burgess made 15 saves on 21 shots. Chris Benkovitz led the team with four shots on goal.

The Colonels return to the ice tomorrow, Jan. 9 for the second matchup of the two-game series against Arcadia. Puck drop is slated for 1:40 p.m. at Hatfield Ice Arena.
