TOWSON, Md. - Wilkes men's tennis junior Sebastian Sylvester (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago/The College of Lady Fatima) and Wilkes women's tennis first-year Ana Savkovic (Belgrade, Serbia/The Hoosac School) were both recognized for their play on the court by the Landmark Conference with athlete of the week honors, as announced by the conference this afternoon.

It's the first weekly honor of Sylvester's collegiate career, while Savkovic has received the honor twice before.

Both players went a combined 8-0 in their singles and doubles matches during Spring Break. Sylvester teamed up with Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) to go 4-0 in doubles, and won all four of his singles matches in dominant fashion. He only dropped one set during the entire week, and the Colonels went 3-1 across their four matches.

Savkovic won all of her singles matches in 2-0 sweeps, and won all of her doubles matches with Julia Spaeth (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg Area) as her partner. Savkovic's strong showing on the court helped the Colonels split their four matches during the break.

The Colonels return to action on Saturday, March 21 to begin their Landmark Conference schedule against Catholic. The match for the men's team is at 1 p.m. and the women's team will follow shortly after at 3:30 p.m.
