DiFrancesco Named Landmark Offensive Athlete of the Week
TOWSON, Md. – Wilkes University men's lacrosse first year
Anthony DiFrancesco (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) has been selected as the Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week for his play against King's College and Mount Saint Mary College, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
This is the first weekly award of DiFrancesco's young career, and the first Offensive Athlete of the Week for the program and second overall since joining the conference in 2024.
DiFrancesco was the driving force of the Colonel offense in two wins last week, totaling 13 goals, two assists, 21 shots on goal, 12 ground balls, and five caused turnovers.
Against the Monarchs on Wednesday, the Nazareth, Pa. native tied a program record with seven goals in a single game, achieved previously by John Wink in 2019. DiFrancesco followed that performance with six more goals on Saturday against the Knights.
The Colonels return to action on Wednesday, March 18
th as they continue a five-game homestand against the Golden Wolves of Alvernia University at 7:00 p.m.
