Wilkes Women's Tennis Upended Against LVC 6-1 to Close Spring Break Trip
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – The Wilkes University women's tennis team finished off its spring break trip down south falling 6-1 to Lebanon Valley College on Thursday morning.
Wilkes stands 3-4 overall in dual matches on the season following the week-long trip. Lebanon Valley improved to 6-2 overall on the year.
LVC took two of three in doubles competition winning at No. 2 and No. 3.
Ana Savkovic (Belgrade, Serbia/The Hoosac School) and
Julia Spaeth (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg Area) earned a 6-2 victory at No. 1 pairs.
LVC clinched the match with five of six singles wins. Savkovic was the lone Colonel winner in singles play besting Sarah McComas 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1.
Wilkes returns home to open Landmark Conference play on Saturday, March 21 with a match against Catholic University starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
