Wilkes Men's Tennis Falls 6-1 at Goucher in Landmark Match
BALTIMORE, MD – Host Goucher College posted a 6-1 Landmark Conference victory over the Wilkes University men's tennis team Sunday afternoon.
Wilkes dropped to 5-6 overall and 1-4 in league matches following the road defeat. Goucher improved to 7-6 overall and 3-1 in Landmark play.
Goucher jumped out to a 1-0 lead taking all three doubles flights. The Gophers then claimed wins in five-of-six singles matches on way to the home conference win.
Landon Gleichauf (Naples, NY/Naples) was the lone singles winner for the Colonels posting a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Ian Hewes at No. 4.
Wilkes looks to keep the momentum going on Wednesday when they travel to Drew University for a Landmark match starting at 3:30 p.m.
