Wilkes Men's Tennis Downed by Juniata
EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. – The Wilkes University men's tennis team hosted Juniata at the Ralston Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon, falling to the Eagles 6-1 in Landmark Conference action.
Wilkes falls to 5-7 (1-5 Landmark) overall while Juniata improves to 9-4 (3-3 Landmark) on the year.
Juniata took the team point in doubles play, winning two out of three games. The duo of
Otarhe Okoh (Shakopee, MN/Shakopee) and
Xavier Bleiler (Mountain Top, PA/MMI Prep) were the winning team for Wilkes in No. 2 action, defeating the team of Maxime Poustis and Gustaf Geremia 7-6, 7-3.
In singles play,
Sebastian Sylvester (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago/The College of Lady Fatima) picked up the Colonels' lone point on the afternoon, defeating Poustis at No. 2 6-1, 6-0.
The Colonels return to the court tomorrow, April 19
th, as they travel to Susquehanna University to face off with the River Hawks. Competition is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
