Scranton Tops Wilkes Women's Tennis 6-1
SCRANTON, PA – Host University of Scranton swept all three doubles flights before taking five of six in singles play on was to a 6-1 Landmark Conference victory over the Wilkes University women's tennis team Thursday afternoon.
Wilkes dropped to 4-6 overall and 1-2 in league matches following the road defeat. Scranton improved to 7-2 overall and remain unbeaten in conference matches at 3-0.
Scranton won all three doubles matches each by the score of 6-2 to claim the team point.
Ana Savkovic (Belgrade, Serbia/The Hoosac School) was the lone singles winner for the Colonels taking her No. 1 position match in straight sets 6-3, 6-0.
Wilkes will return to action Tuesday when the Colonels host Moravian University at 3:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
