Wilkes Men's Tennis Closes Out Landmark Slate with Loss at Drew
MADISON, NJ – The Wilkes University men's tennis team closed out its Landmark Conference schedule falling 6-1 to host Drew University Thursday afternoon at the Drew Tennis Complex.
With the defeat Wilkes fell to 6-9 overall and 2-7 in Landmark matches. Drew improved to 10-7 overall and 6-2 in league contests.
Drew took a 1-0 lead after doubles play with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 by the score of 6-2.
Xavier Bleiler (Mountain Top, PA/MMI Prep) and
Cole Larcinese (King of Prussia, PA/Methacton) were 6-4 winners over Kevin Cronin and Devan Sutaria at No. 3 for Wilkes.
Wilkes' lone singles winner came at No. 5 when
Otarhe Okoh (Shakopee, MN/Shakopee) won a thriller 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (10-6).
The Colonels will close out its 2025-26 season tomorrow when they host cross-town rival King's College at 3:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
