MADISON, NJ –  The Wilkes University men's lacrosse team began a two-game road trip at Ranger Stadium Wednesday night, falling to Drew University 17-2.

Wilkes falls to 4-9 overall (1-4 Landmark) with the loss, while Drew improves to 6-5 on the year (3-2 Landmark).

The Rangers scored the first three goals of the day, before Anthony DiFrancesco (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) put the Colonels on the board with 1:05 left in the first. The hosts then scored 12 unanswered goals, including seven in the third quarter, to pull ahead 15-1 in the fourth.

The Sosnovik brothers teamed up to score the second Colonel goal of the day, as Stone Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) buried the helper from Austin Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) to score the man-up goal with 6:01 to play.

Drew added two more goals before the final whistle to seal the 17-2 victory.

Tim Hartka (Phoenix, MD/Calvert Hall) led the Colonels with five shots on goal, followed by Blaine Snyder (Germansville, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) and S. Sosnovik with three each. A. Sosnovik was the lone Colonel with a multi-point evening, assisting on both goals. Mac Jackson (Long Valley, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) finished the evening with a team high six ground balls and nine faceoff wins. In goal, Caleb Miller (Mohrsville, PA/Schuylkill Valley) made 14 saves.

Nick Carabetta led all players with five goals, followed by Joost van der Horst with four. In goal, Sawyer Kennedy picked up the win making 10 saves.

Wilkes continues their road trip at Elizabethtown College on Saturday, April 11th at 1:00 p.m.
