Wilkes Men's Tennis Upended Against Moravian 7-0
EDWARDSVILLE – Visiting Moravian University posted a 7-0 sweep of the Wilkes University men's tennis team Thursday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
With the defeat Wilkes moved to 5-5 overall and 1-3 in Landmark matches. Moravian improved to 7-4 overall and remained unbeaten at 3-0 in conference play.
The Greyhounds swept all three doubles flights then went on to clinch the match winning six-of-six in singles play all in straight set fashion.
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) pushed his No. 2 singles to a tiebreaker in the second set only to fall 7-5 in the tiebreaker.
Wilkes continues Landmark play Sunday with a road match at Goucher College starting at 12:00 p.m.
