The Wilkes University men's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 win over PSU-Harrisburg, improving to 3-0 this season.
In doubles play, the duo of
Chris Cozzillio (Harrisburg, Pa./Trinity) and
Kyle Ungvarsky (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) gave the Colonels the early lead with an 8-2 win over Shawn Newlin and Philip Tarkington at the No. 1 spot. At No. 2 doubles,
Jeremy Nolt (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) and
Evan Katz (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) took care of Daiki Tanaka and Keith Lynn 8-4 to make it 2-0.
The Colonels made it 3-0 when
Wes McCollum (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and
Anthony Mirabile (Blue Bell, Pa./Lasalle) took an 8-3 win over Mikhail Joseph and Thomas Brown.
In singles play, Ungvarsky, playing at the No. 5 spot, defeated Tarkington, 6-1, 6-0 to make it 4-0 in favor of the Colonels before McCollum clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Tanaka.
Cozzillio, playing at the No. 4 spot, defeated Austin High, 6-2, 6-2 before
Jeremy Nolt (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) won his match over Newlin, 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.
At No. 6 singles,
Brian Fanelli (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) won the final match, defeating Joseph 6-4, 6-4.
