Harrison has 19 kills in win

Marissa Harrison (Shavertown, Pa./Lake-Lehman) put down 19 kills to go along with 15 digs to lead Wilkes University to a 3-2 (24-26, 25-18, 23-25, 31-29, 15-13) marathon win over Alvernia in its final home match of the year. The double-double marks the sixth time this season Harrison has put down at least 10 kills while picking up 10-or-more digs.
           
Harrison has now tallied at least 15-or-more kills five times this season and committed just five errors tonight to help the Lady Colonels improve to 11-19 overall and 5-3 in Freedom Conference play.   
           
Despite collecting less kills and digs and hitting under .100 in the first game, the Crusaders managed to come away with a 26-24 win to take a 1-0 advantage in the match. Gabrielle Albanesius, Laura Hetke and Alyssa Soltis each had three kills in the game, while Harrison had a game-high six with just one error in 10 attempts for Wilkes.
           
Wilkes tied the match at one game each after hitting an impressive .237 for the match, committing just four errors in 38 attacks while putting down 13 kills. Harrison and Julie Page (New Milford, Pa./Blue Ridge) each had three kills in the 25-18 game-two win. 
           
The third game saw both teams exchange points before Alvernia eventually took a 25-23 win to go up 2-1 in the match. Like the first game, the Lady Colonels had more kills, 13-11, but the Crusaders committed one less error in the win. 
           
The Lady Colonels tied the match after an exhausting 31-29 win before winning the fifth and final game, 15-13. Wilkes hit .200 for the match with Page finishing with a season-high 14 kills with just five errors in 36 total attacks. 
           
Both teams had trouble getting their serves in play with a combined 26 service errors 15 of which came from the Crusaders. 
           
Defensively, Allison Kelleher (Sayre, Pa./Athens Area) had 26 digs marking the second time this season she has surpassed the 20-dig barrier. As a team, the Lady Colonels had 92 digs to go along with a block solo and 10 block assists.
