Wilkes Women's Volleyball Sees Three Named to CSC Academic All-District Team
WILKES-BARRE – Three student-athletes from the Wilkes women's volleyball team were selected to the 2025 Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), as announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon.
Kendra Kalp (Somerset, PA/Rockwood),
Ava Wahlers (Coudersport, PA/Coudersport), and
Annalyse Santowasso (Middlesex, NJ/Rutgers Prep) were the recipients of the honor, all earning the first Academic All-District distinctions of their careers.
Kalp started in 30 matches for the Colonels, registering 108 kills, 114 assists, and 261 digs. A junior Pharmacy major, Kalp earned Academic All-District honors with a 3.66 GPA.
Wahlers, a fellow junior, started in all but one of her 27 matches played last season, finishing the year second on the team with 41 blocks and fourth in kills (132) and points (163.5). On top of her accolades on the court, the biology major earned a 3.92 GPA.
Santowasso was one of two student-athletes to play all 31 games for Wilkes, leading the team in digs (398) while also finishing in the top five in assists (50) and service aces (30). Off the court, the sports management major finished with a 3.50 GPA.
To be chosen to the 2025 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team, a student-athlete had to have been at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and must have competed in 90 percent of the team's matches or must have started at least 66 percent of the games for their team.
