The Wilkes University women's soccer team traveled to Purchase, N.Y. to take on conference foe Manhattanville. The Valiants would score three goals in the game and hold Wilkes to only five total shots en route to a 3-0 victory.

In the first period Manhattanville fired 15 shots upon Wilkes goalkeeping, six of which were on goal. In the 14th minute Kathryn Moore scored on a free kick from the left side to put the Valiants up 1-0. Fifteen minutes later Kristina Ciotto scored her first goal of the season on the rebound of a free kick that was blocked by Wilkes. The Lady Colonels were able to get only one shot off in the half.

In the second period Manhattanville would tack on another score in the 88th minute to seal the victory on a goal by Holly Nonis, her 11th of the season.

Wilkes was led by Taryn Hallowell (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere) with three shots, two of which were on goal.

The Lady Colonels will look for their first conference win when they head to Dallas, Pa. to take on Misericordia on Wednesday, Oct. 14. That game will being at 7:00 p.m.
