The Wilkes University women's soccer team visited Dallas, Pa. on Wednesday to take on the Cougars, and after taking an early lead, ended up falling to Misericordia by a final score of 2-1.
Wilkes started off the game in excellent form with senior
Julissa Reed (Coal Township, Pa./Shamokin) scoring in the sixth minute. The rest of the half saw solid defense by both teams and the Lady Colonels walked into the break with a 1-0 lead.
In the second half two goals within two minutes of each other were the difference in the game as Cougar players Jenn Brucker and Laura Roney scored in the 62nd and 64th minute, respectively.
With the loss the Lady Colonels fall to 4-7-2 on the season and 0-2-1 in Freedom Conference play. They will look to bounce back when they host Eastern on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Ralston field. That game will begin at 12:00 p.m.
