Improve to a perfect 10-0 on the year

The Wilkes University men's tennis team has now extended their unbeaten start to the season to double digits after defeating Moravian 6-3 and Lycoming 8-1 in a tri-match on Sunday.
 
With the win, the Colonels are now a perfect 10-0 on the year.
 
Wilkes started the afternoon with their match against the Greyhounds. The Colonels took a commanding lead right from the start by sweeping all three doubles matches. Wes McCollum (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and Chris Cozzillio (Harrisburg, Pa./Trinity) downed Doug Morrow and Ian Box at first singles 8-3. Kyle Ungvarsky (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) and Jon Rohrbach (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) walked away with a win at third singles by an 8-4 count over Chandler Forman and Tom Turoch, while the duo of Jeremy Nolt (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) and Evan Katz (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) finished the sweep with an 8-6 win over Kevin Holze and Drew Shreter at second singles.
 
In singles play, Moravian was able to pick up three victories, the most Wilkes has surrendered all season. Box took down Katz at No. 2 singles by a 6-3, 6-3 count to cut the lead to 3-1. However, the Colonels took the next two matches, to seal the victory. Ungvarsky won at the No. 5 spot over Forman 6-4, 6-4, while Nolt took a 6-5, 6-4 decision over Morrow. Holze won at No. 3 over McCollum 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 and Nick Yelito defeated Rohrbach 7-6 (4), 0-6, 6-4 at No. 6 to add two more points for the Greyhounds, before Cozzillio defeated Shreter 6-7 (4), 7-6 (2), 10-5 at No. 4 to end the match.
 
In the match against Lycoming, Wilkes won two-of-three in doubles action. McCollum and Adam Coombs (Blue Bell, Pa./Lasalle) started things off with an 8-1 win over John Stutzman and Jake McDonough at third doubles, before the Warriors quickly tied up the score when Bobby Brown and Alex Beattie took an 8-4 decision over Cozzillio and Ungvarsky at first doubles. However, the Colonels took the lead back for good when Rohrbach and Brian Fanelli (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) defeated Christian Roesel and Phil Shannon 8-3 at second doubles.
 
In singles play, Wilkes swept all six matches to post the final 8-1 count. Nolt defeated Brown 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, Katz took a 6-2, 6-3 decision over Beattie at No. 2, Cozzillio was victorious 7-6, (7-5), 4-6, 10-7 over Roesel at No. 3, Ungvarsky defeated Shannon 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4, Anthony Mirabile (Blue Bell, Pa./Lasalle) won 6-0, 6-4 over Stutzman at No. 5, while Greg Cooke (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6 over McDonough.
 
The Colonels will return to action on Thursday when they travel to take on Freedom Conference foe Manhattanville at 3:30 pm.
