WILKES-BARRE – Taryn Hallowell (Belvidere, NJ, Belvidere) scored two goals as Wilkes University defeated Delaware Valley College 2-0 in Freedom Conference women's soccer action on Saturday evening at the Ralston Athletic Complex on Homecoming.

Hallowell led an offense that unleashed 24 total shots (13 on goal), with 11 coming in the first half. That is when Hallowell got both of her scores.

The Lady Colonels (5-6, 1-0) got their first goal in the 16th minute when Hallowell took a pass from Jana Martin (Lititz, Manheim Central) and put it past the Del Val keeper, taking a 1-0 lead. Hallowell struck again less than 16 minutes later, threading the net on an unassisted goal off of a corner kick.

Aggies goalie Julie Burnell recorded 11 saves in the net in 90 minutes of action. Samantha Rohn (Levittown, Neshaminy) picked up a save in the start for the Lady Colonels. Hallowell's goals were her sixth and seventh of the season, which lead the team.

The Lady Colonels return to the pitch on Tuesday when they host Elizabethtown at the Ralston Athletic Complex. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
